This is more a theoretical question and not a problem that I have.
According to this this function is used to fetch one / multiple rows in an object appearance from the database. Nevertheless the result object is always a Rowset object. What I am saying is that this function could be used to get a single (current) row from the table and the Rowset or multiple select to be left to ->fetchAll( $where ) function. An advantage it is that you will have access directly to the Row object. Thanks.
