setDefault Locale for Zend_Locale

Hi,

am I doing something obviously wrong?

Code:

Zend_Locale::setDefault("de_DE");
$locale = new Zend_Locale();
print $locale->getLanguage();

I doesn't matter, what locale I set with setDefualt, getLanguage will always return 'en'.
