How to exclude external forums & custom directories

Hi all,

My first post here on the ZFF so hi to all. I have had a little search around to try and find the answer but no joy - i think it's me

How can you exclude forums etc such as vbulletin from being included in the zend framework and run seperately?

Very noobish question but i'm afraid that's still me!
