Anyone have an opinion on these books?

I have Practical Web 2.0 Applications with PHP and am somewhat dissapointed. Besides being out of date (not even 1.5) the book implements a template system using Smarty. I never understand the need for smarty but hey!

Sorry for my absence but I'm back now and will be around more regularly.
