Unfortunately at the moment I don't think there are any dedicated ZF irc channels, but if there are enough idlers, we can start one on freenode like ##ZendFramework?. Your best bet is to look in the php channels, but they tend discourage discussing a certain product.

I've just joined two channels on freenode irc network. #ZendFramework and ##ZendFramework. I'm not fluent in IRC configuration, so someone should choose the better of them to use.

Hi,

Problem is "advertising" into community this... I mean no members and actually no members who are going to reply to questions means no activity...

Here on forum is still low atm, didn't got much time last weeks mostly due to ZF work, i am converting the "framework" i used before to a ZF customized model... Took lot of time...

Yes, that's probably true, so I hope, that after ZF 1.0 is release, the community will grow up fast.

OK, if more people are posting here to sustain such IRC activity for ZF i guess we can go to make - register - a channel...

An IRC channel is nice, although I would really like if "big" questions still came by the forum so everyone can read them, learn from them and then google can find the solutions to...

But, the channel idea is very good... since #PHP and other channels aren't really productfriendly and most of the time don't want to help you with any "package" wich is normal though

Thx to Martin Hujer btw, I'll join in soon

Regretfully, no. I had lots of experience digging google for the answers with Zend, tried different combinations - and nothing came out. At least nothing, that could help. So IRC is surely needed.

You're completely right. No competent admins means no help there. BUT, there is another option. If you'd afford gathering a big community there, there will allways be a probability, that some of the members that are hanging around there will have an answer. So the only problem is to gather them. And, i think, it is possible. You can advertise the irc channel via the site, forum and the software itself... and hell knows what ever other methods will work Jous go on with this, it is surely a necesserity.
